A family holiday in a caravan brings back wonderful memories for many people across the UK. Long walks in fresh air before curling up together in the warmth. Chatting late into the night. Caravan holidays are the perfect way to bring everyone together, whatever their ages. They need not be as cramped as you think. They are able to stay relatively small in size because of the creative ways they use space and storage. Whether you have toddlers, teenagers, or something in between, everybody can have a great time. These are the memories that will last a lifetime.

  1. Shop for the Essentials Before You Go

There’s nothing worse than arriving somewhere after a long drive and not being able to make yourself a tea or coffee. Have some essentials with you when you arrive so that you will feel instantly at home. A warm drink or a cool can will perk everyone up and settle them in. Bread, butter and cheese are also great staplers if anyone is peckish and grumpy! Shopping for essentials before you arrive may seem like extra luggage in the car, but it can be a lifesaver. If you’re in an unfamiliar region, trying to find a supermarket after travelling can be a nightmare. The children won’t feel like turning out again and neither will you, most likely. Save the big shop for another day when you can make the most of it. Shopping for meals, treats and goodies can be fun as long as you’re well rested.

2) Make the Best Use of Space

Caravans may look small on the outside but they are usually surprisingly spacious on the inside. Each room and cabinet is carefully designed to make the best use of the space. But there are still some things you can do to help things go smoothly. Encourage everyone to clean up as they go, putting things away as soon as they’ve finished using them. This may be your policy at home anyway but it is even more important in a caravan! Caravan air awnings are also a good choice if you could really use some extra space. They still provide you with some shelter and warmth but mean you can be outside in the fresh air at the same time. They’re a great way to add some additional space without breaking the bank or paying for a larger model.

3) Get Out More
If you’ve chosen a caravan holiday, chances are that you’re hoping to experience the great outdoors! This is a great way to for the whole family to pull together as a team. All ages can get fresh air, exercise, and be easier to manage in a small space as a result. Be sure to research good walks in the area you’re staying. There are usually routes for all different levels if you have little ones or elderly family members. Take a picnic with you to make a great day of it. Stretch your legs and have fun before returning to your cosy cubby-hole.
